Charles Wallace Murry is a major character in Madeleine L'Engle's Time Quintet series of young adult science fiction novels. He is first introduced in L'Engle's ''A Wrinkle in Time'' as the youngest sibling of the protagonist, Meg Murry, and accompanying her on her adventures alongside Calvin O'Keefe. ==Characterization== Charles has blue eyes, and is repeatedly described as small for his age. At fifteen, he looks "no more than twelve." This is offset somewhat by a mature and serious demeanor. Throughout the series, Charles is shown to have very keen intellect for his age. In the first book, it is mentioned that Charles Wallace did not learn to talk until he was almost four, but talked in full sentences then, skipping over the "baby preliminaries" according to his sister, Meg. He is bullied by other children and misunderstood by adults outside his family because of his brilliance and his shy demeanor, though he recognizes this problem himself. He prefers to be called Charles Wallace rather than Charlie or Chuck, as noted in ''Wind'' and ''Planet'', but Meg frequently calls him simply Charles. In '' A Swiftly Tilting Planet'', he allows Mrs. O'Keefe to call him Chuck, correctly guessing that she is identifying him with someone from her personal past (her brother, as it turns out). According to an April 2004 article in ''The New Yorker'', Charles Wallace is thought to be partly based on Madeleine L'Engle's son, the late Bion Franklin. L'Engle herself has acknowledged that Bion was the model for another of her characters, Rob Austin, but has not stated a similar provenance for Charles Wallace. 抄文引用元・出典: フリー百科事典『 ウィキペディア(Wikipedia)』 ■ウィキペディアで「Charles Wallace Murry」の詳細全文を読む スポンサード リンク
